New Around Here
I just purchased DS109 for my home.
I have a PC and Synology DS-109 (with 1T WD black caviar 7200 rpm) both wired to router DLink-655 on 1G. A Notebook connected to the same router via WiFi N (connection is good). When I copy files from PC to notebook I have 7-10 MB/s which twice as better then DS-109 copying files from shared drive to Notebook at 2-4 MB/s. When I watch movies on my notebook from files located on PC there is no problem even for HD content. But when I watch video from NAS on the same notebook I experience occasional stuttering for regular DVD content and absolutely no way for HD. I am not arguing here that wired 1G better then any draft WiFi. But whole idea of notebooks is to place them where you want in the house and get conveniently all information from storage. That is why I bought my DS-109. All DS-109 network settings set to default. Router QoS and WiSH are off. Please advise.

What is your file copy speed to / from the wired PC and DS109?

Does the DS109 show a gigabit connection?
