I continue to be impressed with the depth and breath of reliable information, informed opinion and healthy debate on the web site and in the forums. It has helped immensely and I just wanted to again say thanks.

In general, aside from participation in the forums, how can members help support this site ???!!

Thanks for the kind words.

The best way you can help is to spread the word about the site. Don't let us be a "best kept secret"!

Agreed Tim. Without doubt the best collection of current "real" information I was able to find on the topic of networks for folks who don't have a large IT budget. I'll be referring a lot of folks back here from our site. The information you've gathered has helped a great deal in explaining the results we're getting here as we try and sort out a plethora of networking options. Jeeps I had just finished a great deal of research in the area of trunking/link aggregation...and lo and behold, you posted up an article on the subject.

Keep pumping out articles at the level you're doing, with objective testing like you're doing, and this site will become a networking version of Tom's Hardware :)

Tim - do you have sufficient sponsorship/funding? If not, I note some sites offer the option to join as a 'premium' member for nominal amount...

Thanks for the suggestion, Mediaman, and your concern. I have considered the "premium" option from time to time. But, in the end, very few sites have been able to make that work. And I know that they bug me when I run into them! :)

I have a good group of advertising partners. But in the end, it's the traffic that counts. More visitors bring more $.

Thank YOU Tim

After finding this site and reading a lot of threads I have come to realize that this site is the old toms networking!! I didnt realize that I thought that one day a couple of years ago I had found my favorite SMB/SOHO netoworking website.
I have been here numerous times over the past few years and was eagerly reading the review of the dir-655 ver 1 when the Trendnet review came out. I ended up somehow with the 1.1r version and have loved this thing ever since. Now I have the HP procuve switches and cat 6 ethernet to every room in my house all with 2 drops plus 2 cable drops and 2 phone drops. All of this is due the the information that I have gleaned from reading various reviews, articles and posts over time on this website. Next up I am trying to decide on a low cost atom 330 DIY box with WHS for home storage, media server and mail server or a NAS, HMMM suggestions anyone?
I also did not fail to notice that Tim is very active in the forums which is a huge plus in my book. Tim I try to tell anyone who would benefit from your website about it and hope that this venture has been successful for you. At least from the look and feel of the website, the quality of your articles and the choices in hardware I would say that you are on your way to being wildly successful. I have no problem with the ads on your website and click closed anything I dont like. The only ads that I despise are the verbal ads that play when you accidentaly mouse over them.

Again thank you and here is to your continued success. Also I will try to no longer be just a lurker in you forums.

And finally I thought that I would revive this thread to remind people that Tim is slagging away every day to make a buck like the rest of us. So please click on the ads and buy something next time that review makes you drool:D
