A company needs to make a smartphone with with a 4 stream 802.11ac wifi adapter, full 1 watt transmit power, probably a core i5 mobile CPU, 16GB RAM, and a decent GPU such as a GTX880m, and then give it a user replaceable 20,000mAh battery, and to satisfy the rest of the market, give it a APS-C image sensor and user replaceable lens.

If a phone can give good specs and good battery life, then many people may not mind slightly more bulk. For example, a design like this would have easily worked if users could get a truly high end smartphone.
