Almost yearly, @RMerlin has written an excellent and entertaining year-in-review about his project and where it's headed in the near future. He also touches in on new and exciting WiFi-tech and what he thinks it'll mean for the users. Will there be such a post this year, @RMerlin?

Perhaps he's a bit busy...

From an industry perspective - there's a lot happening with WiFi7 and better chipsets across the board from the big three - Broadcom, Qualcomm, and Mediatek.
