strange connection issues

one other thing i do not understand is, on my network map>connected clients> wired list, i can see a fifth connection (i did post about this recently and i was suggested this is a bug in the software and it could be a previously connected device) well, since then, i have discovered what this connected device is...
My internet connection is a WDSL....i have a MikroTic device on my roof receiving signal from ISP and the cable coming from MikroTic goes into WAN port (blue) but i do not remember this showing up on my network map>connected clients> wired list before! why it shows up now i have no idea...

One thing i noticed after things got back to normal, is that above mentioned "fifth" connection in my network map>connected clients> wired list is no longer there!

My $0.02...
Diversion does work but only updates its number of blocked DNS sites twice a day.
Use Dual Band SmartConnect, auto channel for both bands, 2.4 GHz on 20 MHz and 5 GHz on 80 MHz. Don't use DFS channels.
Network Map has always been wonky. It may take a day or so to show connected clients. Then again it may never show them.
Use a flitering DNS resolver such as Quad9 or Cloudflare Security (1.1.1.2 and 1.0.0.2)
I feel the Asus firmware works better for my environment. Sure, I have tested Merlin (this past weekend in fact) but have gone back to stock Asus. I do not push 160 MHz on the 5 GHz band but use 80 MHz for better range and stability. Also use WPA2-Personal as I have several old clients that do not like WPA2/WPA3-Personal. To block adds I use a RPI3b+ with Pi-Hole 6.

Use Dual Band SmartConnect

This advice is not good for regions with large power differences on 2.4GHz and 5GHz band. In Europe 2.4GHz band is restricted to 100mW, 5GHz band non-DFS to 200mW and 5GHz band in DFS allows up to 1000mW on selected channels. Smart Connect - forget about it. Your experience in the US with up to 1000mW on both bands is totally different. Your router is technically different to begin with.
