At this point, this thread is more about a compromised computer than anything having to do with a router. The security issues recently fixed by Asus simply allowed access to the files stored on USB disks plugged on the router. That does not give any mean for the router to "compromise" a computer. A router merely routes traffic, it cannot execute code on a computer, unless said computer has some pretty serious vulnerability (like the Code Red or Nimda of old).

I suggest you try asking on a support forum that targets more specifically computers if you are looking for help. But the general rule is, if a computer is compromised, the only safe thing to do is to wipe it out, and start over from scratch, especially if you suspect the presence of any root kit.

The general tone on this thread has also turned pretty acid, so I'll be locking this thread for now before it devolves any further.

Since as you say the router could not have done this. Although the article posted earlier states you are wrong and it can.

"...
Many have reported malware being uploaded into the sync share folders,
large amounts of unauthorized file sharing and most importantly the
theft of entire hard drives of personal information. Over 7,300 units
are still vulnerable to this weakness as of today...."

This is about USB disks plugged to the router, which was what this security hole was about - complete access to plugged USB Disks through Anonymous FTP access to it.

Uploaded malware has to be manually executed by a user to infact a computer, it can't automatically infect anything on the WAN.
