Looking to add a new switch most likely 16 or 24 ports.

Would like to be able to support my servers dual NICs which sounds like I will need a switch that supports LAGG. is that correct?

So what should I buy? Been reading lots of stuff and got myself all confused. Thinking maybe one of these:

ZyXEL XGS1910-24
TrendNET TEG-240WS
Cisco SG300-28 if price is right

Knowing this thing will most likely be in use for 5+ years I am trying to anticipate future needs while balancing cost & Power use. Conflicting goals....

so first i would ensure the dual ethernet and server actually support link aggregation / bonding and not just redundancy

if it does support bonding you could then consider ether a switch that also supports it or perhaps a wireless router like the asus rt-ac88u

any semi managed switch will support it via LAGG. consumer routers do not have LAGG capability except a few high end ones like the asus ac88u and higher and netgear equivalent but those are only specialised in that they can only combine 2 ports out of all the ports they have.

You want to get a device that supports 802.3ad LACP

This includes every single device that you want aggregation to work with from the switch to server. You also want a device that supports at least as many LAGs as devices that will utilize them. One LAG per device. Single port devices or devices that only need STP based redundancy do not need a LAG.
