SO i know the router supports TCP/IP 6 but how do I know if Optimum online supports it? that and there seem to be multiple settings for it router?

Does Optimum online in NJ even support it?

No, and no published plans for native IPv6 support. You can use an IPv6 tunnel provider (like Hurricane Electric)

What is TCP/IP 6?

^ sarcastic like me, I think i like you, TCP/IPv6 ( according to the installed protocols for windows )

anyway I signed u for Hurricane Electric

I got these setting but the setting in the routers IPv6 ( TCP/IPv6 in windows)dont match the above so i dont know what goes there and the wiki listed setting dont match it either.

Change the connection type to 'Tunnel 6in4' then it will make sense. When entering the addresses, leave off the '/64 ' subnet masks. Then you need to set up a DDNS update (on the WAN>DDNS page to update HE with your WAN address)

it is set to 6in4 and no it dont cause names listed on router page dont match those on HE seeing or the wiki if it did I wouldnt be asking,

router lists
Connection type

Server IPv4 Address 209.51.161.14
Client IPv6 Address
2001:470:1f06:a78::2
IPv6 Prefix Length
Server 64
IPv6 Address
Tunnel 2001:470:1f06:a78::1
MTU

Tunnel TTL 255
LAN IPv6 Address
LAN Prefix Length
LAN IPv6 Prefix
IPv6 DNS Server 1
2001:470:20::2
IPv6 DNS Server 2
IPv6 DNS Server 3

Enable Router Advertisement

if those are right then i dont know cause like said wiki list something that the HE setting dont list and router dont list, they all use diffrent names.

As for the DNS setup

Set it up for tunnelbroker.net the wiki said

I put my user name and pass there but it wants host which can i fiqure out what it actual is cause he isnt tell,

Like said if the wiki info match what the router and HE was giving and directions on how to do this was clear atlest it not to me, i would not be ask

Here's mine with a he 48 as an example for you

I managed to get to work but I unsure what should be IPv6 Lan settings

I can set to 64 and 2001:470:1f07:****::

or 48 and 2001:470:****::

from Tunnel detals page and it will work, as for setting Tunnel.net no clue going on there and I only that out fqiure out but put info on tunnel page in random spots. to enable it acord to windows and test

I have my username and pass there, not clue what host should be

The wiki guides are not dumby proof I could spend days there and still not undertand it, whicn one reason why i still havent done https://github.com/RMerl/asuswrt-merlin/wiki/Disable-Windows-10-tracking

Eh, just wanted to be sure you were talking about IPv6 as a whole, and not a subset of it such as NATv6, or one of the numerous IPv6 tunneling protocols (6rd, 6in4, etc...).

NVM I give up, I might be able to get get tcp/ipv6 going And i only got threw try and error, I sure as hell cant fiqure out the tunnelbroker.net setup.

Unless some one point to Guide that actual works hell it took 3+ months to fiqure how to do Schueduled reboot threw crons and those scripts, , which why i glad that open is in the gui new,

after more frustration I fiqure out and the tunnelbroker.

http://ipv6-test.com/

This test show my ICMP as filter, I tried turning FW off both normal and IPV6 firewall, and that still say filter, so iether I need to do something else on the router to let that threw or optimum online is filtering it?

Everything else looks good.

yeah they all work, I just corious about that site saying it filter, then is say it IPv6 relys on ICMP heavy

the IPV6 speed test show 8/8mbit as apposed to 105/25 ipv4

It's not the router......Windows firewall blocks IPv6 echo requests by default and you have to allow it. In the firewall, check under File and Printer Sharing (Echo Request - ICMPv6-In)

it was still filters even when I disabled the windows 10 fire wall

Anyway I not seeing this setting in firewall menu

What often throws first-time users off is that they got used to NAT, and they forget that IPv6 is not NATted. Everything on your LAN gets a different, public IP, and they are also responsible for firewalling (in addition to Asuswrt's firewall).

NAT can involve IPv6, and part of the problem is how the carriers have implemented... the roll out has been a challenge, that much is certain...

It can, but it's rarely ever used.

well i got it to all work not sure it was worth the effort but i guess it might make figure vpn setup a lil easier,

I will probably just disable IPv6 on all my pc and router again like been doing for decade
