The famous "received packet" issue (RT-AC87u)

I've seen a few instances of it throughout my time on this forum but wish I knew how to fix it.

My devices will randomly drop for up to a minute and every single time this occurs the following is always printed in the system log and the exact time it occurred.

Code:
Feb 2 00:54:49 kernel: br0: received packet on eth1 with own address as source address

I recently bought this router over my 2009 router. While it performs much, much, much better... these disconnects are very irritating for trying to maintain stable connections for programs such as ssh, irc, games, etc.

Does anyone have the slightest idea of how to fix this?

Subcribed! I also have had router disconnects when i get what looks to be some low level guy trying to access my now extinct (thanks merlin) PPTP server. I would get a log entry stating that it had dropped a small initial connection or something and then the network would freeze or so. Only saying this in the crazy chance that it helps
