This isn't encouraging after reading ASUS AC68 router requirements

The connection between a DAC and amp would be analog, not digital.
If the DAC was outputting a digital signal it would not be a very good Digital to Analog Convertor.
A pure amplifier can not do anything with a digital signal, it would require a built in DAC but then we start calling them receivers not amplifiers to better describe it's abilities.

Digital audio signals can suffer from problems like corruption or jitter, but these problems typically are very noticeable. If your digital signal is suffering a problem you are typically left with something that is unusable.

I believe most perceived differences in these cables, especially digital cables, is placebo. The placebo is enforced by their brain to justify their purchase and rationalize the price tag.

Thanks for catching that.

Of course, I meant between the CD 'turntable' and the DAC's.

Not placebo at all. Anyone with average hearing could hear the differences.

With more expensive cables not necessarily the best fit for the system (my customers) at hand.

Cat 5 is rated for Gigabit but it is only good for upto 96 or 97 meters cant remember which hence the Cat5e to make it to 100 meters

Just ensure you have copper and not cca and your good

I hard wired my house in 2000 every room has multiple runs embedded in the wall and have been running Gigabit ethernet with high quality Cat 5
which is ofc copper ever since via a 24 port gigabit switch

Guess what i tested 10GBASE-T a few months ago
and it was just fine...

clearly if you are doing a new install high quality Copper Cat 6a is prefered
but a high quality all copper Cat 5 cable is quite capable of 10GBASE-T
upto around 40-50M Lengh

You get what you pay for. $5 cat6 cable is not the same as $50 cat6 cable.

A 1000 ft spool of cat6 550MHz (so basically 6A, will probably work at 40Gb/s) cable goes for a bit over $100. Basic low end Cat6 specs (still 10Gb at 55 ft!) is 1000 ft for $50-75. A bag of 100 connectors to put on the ends of it after cutting is ~$15. Anybody charging $50 for a CAT6 cable shorter than a football field is obviously ripping you off.
