New Around Here
Hi,

I don't have a lot of money and was wondering if people had any tips and tricks for fitting extra drives cheaply in a case?

Currently I am considering some DIY with small plastic bottles to turn them into drive holders that can be glued to the floor of a case.

What locations do you have available to mount the drives in? I assume there's some 5.25" Drive Bays? I assume they're 3.5" drives as well?

Well it's a fairly standard tower case with 3 spare 5.25 bays and 3 spare 3.5 bays. Also, it's a mini ATX board with nothing else intalled apart from the raid controller, so there is loads of space inside. I have seen things like ICyboxes, but they are going for near $140 here in the UK. I'm trying to think of DIY ways to mount extra drives. One thing I just remembered is I have sets of runners that seem to be meant for hard drives. Just looking at them now thinking about how I could bolt them onto the case... hmmmm

Ive used this stuff before in ony of my older cases.

just cut two pieces for each side of the hard drive. screw the drives into the holes wherever they line up then screw the strap to the underside of an existing drive cage using the screws on the cage itself. It will just hang down inside the case. Its pretty rigid so you dont have to worry too much about the drives moving around. Admittedly its pretty ghetto but you can get a good 5'+ roll for a few bucks at nearly any hardware store.
