[RT-AC56U] Torrent + Samba copy = freeze

Hello,

I need your help. I've been struggling for more than a week with a problem.
I tried many many things to solve it, but none of them helped.

I have an RT-AC56U router with original latest firmware.

When I torrent some files with Download Master or Transmissions and meanwhile I copy large files from Samba share of the connected USB 3 HDD (ext4) after some minutes the router freezes and needs to turn it off and on.

I tried to lower the number of max. peers, add swap file, magic variables before starting transmission, check the SoC temperature, check log files, different filesystems, etc.

Is it a known issue?
Please help me.
Thanks.

The firmware 3.0.0.4.374_134 solves my problem. I copied about 270GB from samba share successfully, meanwhile some torrents were downloading in the background and a movie was streaming via DLNA. I tried without torrent and DLNA stream as well.

I have a freezing issue with the newer model RT-AC68U. At different time intervals (sometime 15 mins, sometime several hours) so I have to reboot the router. I do not use torrents but I have a USB stick in the modem. This post give me some direction on how to troubleshoot (remove USB stick, see if I still get the problem). I am running firmware 3.0.0.4.374.291

my AC56U just started crashing every time I try to torrent anything ever since I updated to the latest firmware (FW3.0.0.4.374.291) Local lan connection worked but WAN was dead...and the web config for the router itself would not load....

Had to power cycle the router several times....and 2x wouldn't accept my login info....manged to downgrade firmware...and it works fine now.

UPDATE:

I previously mentioned that I updated to this firmware .291....and started having the router lockup as soon as a engaged a torrent......

I did further testing....reset to factory..flashed .219 in restore mode....and reset all my settings to what they were....and the lockup still happened...

So ...I started toggling random settings on and off etc...and disabling Jumbo frame did the trick....now everything is fine....torrents running great...no lockups for the last 10 min

No idea why Jumbo Frames would cause this...I kinda get what Jumbo frames is....but doesn't it hurt performance to disable it...as in lan transfer speeds and such?

Its weird...internet speeds seem a tad punchier with J F disabled.

UPDATE: Spoke too soon....it crashed again.....well...back to older firmware I go.

Update: FW version 3.0.0.4.374.339 solves my issues.
