Finally got into the access point game thanks to thiggins' article about a cheaper & easier way to get speed & range to different parts of the house without investing in a much more $$$ Mesh WiFi system or a 8 antenna router.
Primary goal was to get better signal to my Ring WiFi Doorbell so it wouldn't stutter or fail to connect.
So I installed TP-Link's excellent EAP225 Access Point this past weekend & am initially able to assign new SSID(s) & PW(s) on the both bands & changed the broadcast channels for the 2.4GHz band.
While the TP-Link OMADA EAP Controller program is simple to navigate & use, it is a little overwhelming.
But I want to expand to more strategic configuration. What concepts should I research to do following:
1) Reserve specific SSID for only doorbell
2) Limit time available on Guest type SSID to surf the net
3) Do I want a static IP address or let the router's DHCP assign it?
I know there's more options on this excellent config software but these are my initial wants.
