Trying to compile asuswrt

I got this error. Is it because I am missing some libraries?

Yes. Asuswrt build environment is broken since last summer. ASUS guys forgot to put some precompiled lighttpd modules for AiCloud, more over, the other lighttpd module will be compiled without errors but it's not working. See my script for details.

DI tried compiling on Ubuntu x64 12.04.1 under VirtualBox 4.2.6 and got the same error.

Did you ever get past this error? I tried compiling on Ubuntu x64 12.04.1 under VirtualBox 4.2.6 and got the same error. I made a fresh VM install, did all the updates and then installed VirtualBox additions. Followed and refollwed the instructions in the 3.0.0.4.260 GPL release readme to the letter.

The GPL archive is missing a few files, and has a broken build system for the AiCloud components. You won't be able to build it out-of-the-box without doing quite a few fixes.
