I have read the article "How To: Setting up FreeRADIUS for WPA & WPA2 Enterprise" in SmallNetBuilder and I am trying to set it up on windows,

using
Linksys WRT54Gv2
freeRADIUS 1.1.7-r0.0.2 from http://freeradius.net/
openSSL v0.9.8i from http://www.slproweb.com/products/Win32OpenSSL.html

Here is what I have done different from the article (other than using the win32 version of things):
1) Build the CA and certs with openSSL (specified location)
2) copy the CA and certs to a prespecified folder (subfolder of the default certs locations used by freeRADIUS)
3) change the config of the freeRADIUS to locate the copied certs

for some reason I can't get it to work (for some reason no log files are produced by freeRADIUS and Debug mode seems to be more of a flash of command window).

Any help would be really appreciated in setting this up (maybe a part 3 of such article?)

re: CA

I've gone through the entire process here verbatim (different username in the home folder but thats about it) using Ubuntu Linux 8.04 and 9.10.
In both cases when I try to connect a windows client, I don't see my CA in the list of those available. I have imported the certificate but don't see it in the Trusted Certificate Authority. Am I missing something?

Problem

Hi!

This is a great how to.
On Debian linux i must change a little in the radiusd.conf file.

109 user = nobody
# group = nobody
110 group = nogroup

If anyone is setting it up on Lenny (5.0.x), make sure to add the backports and install freeradius through apt-get. I had to figure it out the hard way that the repos that come stock with the fresh install don't support TLS and it kept giving me errors on not being able to find TLS.

Add this repo in /etc/apt/sources.list

deb http://www.backports.org/debian lenny-backports main contrib non-free

then do apt-get update

Afterwards, apt-get install freeradius then follow the rest of the tutorial on making the certs, etc.
