New Around Here
I plan on setting up two routers to use same SSID/security/pw (on diff. channels) so people can go through the building without having to reconnect.

First off, this does work, right?

Second, will it be a problem if one router is AC and the other N. None of the clients would be AC at this point.

one router, one access point (AP).
any router can be configured as an AP.

put the two on different channels. Choose between 1, 6 and 11 in 2.4GHz band.
