Hi,
I am now running Merlin's latest build (.20) on my N66U and I have a weired problem:
3 days ago I installed Owncloud on my own web site hosted by infomaniak.ch.
All went OK and I started to synchronize my local HD with my distant owncloud just before goinig to bed. So far so good
The day after the connection to my site was down. And since that moment I cannot access any web page of my site (eg www.truan.ch/alain) when I use the N66U. All other sites I can try on the web are OK.
I can access my site if I connect my computer directly to my cable-modem. I contacted my hosting company and they made some checks and found no problem on their side, which I can understand because my site is reachable when I don't go through the N66U.

I tried several firmware versions (official and Merlin) with no success.

As I did not change any setting in the router before the problem started I get quite lost.

I would appreciate your help. Thanks for reading

What happens if you try to resolve the hostname on your PC? Open a command prompt, and run the following:

If it fails to resolve, try with a different DNS:

nslookup www.truan.ch 8.8.8.8

If it works, then it means the problem is with the DNS you are using.

Also make sure you didn't accidentally enable one of the filter options on the router.

Thank you for your help!
Here is what I get when I make a nslookup. I am not a specialist so I can't really understand the result.
URL filter, Keyword filter and Network services filter are OFF (I triple checked)

That confirms at least that your DNS is able to properly resolve the name, so this is not a DNS issue.

To rule out any possible configuration issue on the router, make a backup of your settings, then reset it back to factory defaults. Only configure the basics so you can connect again to the Internet, and see if you are now able to access that site. If that doesn't help you can restore your saved settings if you want to avoid reconfiguring everything.

I reseted to factory default but that did not help :-(
I must admit this situation is driving me crazy. I have been able to fix many problems in all kinds of computer topics but this one is really amazing...

Try a traceroute (tracert in Windows) to the address. Then you will see where the "stop" is.

Here is the result:

That means the host in unreachable, the problem does not seem to have anything to do with your router, there's nothing you can do.

I can't reach it either.

YESSSSSSS!!!! :)

I finally found the problem: I disconnected all wires from the router (1 USB HD and 3 Ethernet clients) except the cable modem of course. Then I rebooted the router and the modem and now all is normal again!!!
I don't understand why but it works.
Thanks to all of you for your help.
