New Around Here
Hi All,

Having a problem accessing my Asus RT-AC68U. When I try to access using the router IP, it brings up the page that my internet access is blocked. However I have access to the internet. I have tried to put the router into recovery mode, but that did not help. I have also tried to factory reset and that did not change a thing. Anyone have any ideas or have faced similar situation? Also to note, the router has been flashed with Merlin last year.

Also unable to ping the router via CMD.

Historically many home routers used a default address of 192.168.1.1 (or 10.0.0.1, etc.). In an attempt at genuine make-believe security they've changed that up a bit and use things like 192.168.50.1 and whatever.

So go to command line and type in ipconfig (or ipconfig /all) to make sure you're using the right address.

Use a different browser.

Reboot the router.

Clear the cache on the browser you are using.

Reboot the device you are using.

Try all of the above (together).

Thanks for your replies Klueless, L&LD & Ronal Schwerer.

This simple process fixed the problem. Thanks.

You're welcome! The shotgun approach works great. Just make sure to do it in the least destructive order first (as you seem to have done). :)
