Unable to connect Belkin WeMo switches with recent Asuswrt-Merlin firmware (53+)

Until recently my Belkin WeMo switches were working fine. However, sometime last week I noticed that both were disconnected.

I have been trying to re-connect them to the 2.4 GHz wireless network provided by my RT-AC66U router (running build 378.53 or 378.54_alpha4) without success for several days. An attempt to connect to a different (Sitecom) router of a family member worked immediately...

After I perform the WeMo setup procedure, I currently always end in this situation at my home:
- the RT-AC66U router lists the WeMo switch as a wireless (2.4 GHz) connected device in the Network Map
- the Fing network scanner on iOS devices lists the WeMo switch on the IP addressed I assigned to it (192.168.1.202)
- the Belkin WeMo iOS App does not detect any WeMo device
- the QuickSwitch iOS App does not detect any WeMo device
- manually adding the WeMo switch to the QuickSwitch iOS App by entering the IP address does not work either (no WeMo device detected at that IP address)

In the router log I see multiple log lines like these:

Code:
Jun 2 22:17:17 dnsmasq-dhcp[481]: DHCPDISCOVER(br0) <MAC ADDRESS>
Jun 2 22:17:17 dnsmasq-dhcp[481]: DHCPOFFER(br0) 192.168.1.202 <MAC ADDRESS>
Jun 2 22:17:17 dnsmasq-dhcp[481]: DHCPREQUEST(br0) 192.168.1.202 <MAC ADDRESS>
Jun 2 22:17:17 dnsmasq-dhcp[481]: DHCPACK(br0) 192.168.1.202 <MAC ADDRESS>

(where <MAC ADDRESS> is the MAC address of the WeMo switch I'm trying to connect)

I have a dedicated Guest Network for the WeMo switches with an all lowercase SSID and 63 character WPA2 password (I tried a simpler one without success). My Philips Fidelio speakers connect to the same network just fine. The guest network has intranet access enabled. This setup has not been changed for months and worked fine before.

Any tips on what to try next? (before switching to an old Merlin or Asus firmware version)

go and force a change of IP address onto the WeMo (from the router) and do another factory reset (on the WeMo).

Oh and ensure that if you are using 5Ghz on your mobile, change to the 2.4Ghz before using the app.

Forced the IP address to be 192.168.1.204 (which was not used before), performed a factory reset (on the WeMo) and made sure my iPhone was on 2.4 GHz.

However, no change.

I think I should also mention that the WeMo led turns solid blue after selecting the SSID/network I want it to connect to and entering the correct password during setup (still using the ad hoc network provided by the WeMo switch). However, once the WeMo iOS App starts searching for the WeMo switch on the regular network, the led turns off and stays off. If I unplug the WeMo switch and plug it in again, the led will start blinking blue (trying to connect) and eventually change to blinking orange (connection failed). Still the router lists the device in the Network Map (also after a manual refresh).

My first attempt at work also immediately succeeded, so I guess both the WeMo switch and the WeMo App are OK.

Thus it has to be my network setup...

Any other suggestions?

Turns out I need to enable "b/g Protection".

Both my WeMo Switches connect now.

After updating to 378.54_1 all the iOS Apps once again can't see my WeMo switches (who are blinking orange again).

This time even with b/g Protection enabled.

I have the same problem XIII

Wemo not working anymore with asus merlin firmware 375.55.

It's something in the lastest firmware(s).
I hope they fix it soon ....

As I posted in the 378.55 topic I solved my problem by using a fixed control channel (11) instead of Auto.

This was suggested both by Belkin and a knowledgeable user of this forum.
