Too many PnP crowd with too much money to waste. IMO, this symptom is everywhere.
But economy has to move, money has to go around, LOL!

I find it amazing that US Robotics is seemingly alive and well after all that's happened since they began. They are lucky to have a good parent company

Just nice to see them still around - they were huge contributors to the first round - BBS's with UUCP/Fidonet and then perosnal SLIP/PPP dialup Internet connections - many of the modem vendors have gone away, so seeing that USR is still being around, that is is pretty cool, esp. considering the 3Com meltdown...

Was kindly dinging a good friend@VZ on the Verizon/AOL purchase - as AOL is still one of the leading dialup providers, last count was about 24M subs - my ding on him was it content or modem users :D

I think we've gone off the range again :D
 
My first engineering job in the industry was working on USR Robotics Total Control modem racks. Those things were fun. Basically a PRI/T1 in and 24 modems out.
