I upgraded my internet as century link has began offering FIOS tv. The tech couldn't answer if I could just tunel from modem to my router(n66u).

He was trying to say it might mess with the video pushed through the lines....sounds highly shady to me. I am work right now so I havn't yet sat down and played with it. I think its a ploy to make me pay a rental fee for their modem/router for Prism tv.

The modem is the Actiontec C2000A.

Before I just tunneled through a basic modem that only had 1 line out to the router and YES it handled the internet speed I pay for. 40mbps down/5mbps up.

Advice/thoughts gents?

Turns out, I have to go through it...if I dont the picture ends up freezing on fios tv. So I am FORCED to use their modem. With port fowarding and connecting devices, what is the best way to utilize the n66u now? I can't use the modem in transparency(bridge mode)

I don't have CenturyLink or one of these modems, but I found this on the net, http://qwest.centurylink.com/internethelp/modem-c2000a-adv-bridging-ctl.html. Does this work for you?

No sir. Thanks for the research though. I didn't see that link. Right now I have their modem connected to them and acting running DCHP. So i had to ensure I set all the port fowards up right.

I have the n66u running as an AP. Crappy thing now is I was using asus DDNS, and this modem only has paid options for DDNS. ugh, problems
