I was using two different models of Monster. There are no settings to log in and configure on those. And so far, there have been no more 192.168.0.x IPs rearing their ugly heads!
 
There's usually a button press sequence you can go thru on the adapter to change the encryption keys from the default and get the adapters to re-sync.
 
I was going to send you a couple but it sounds like you got things sorted. John you are right about re-sync and can also set up your own encryption(auto).

You can also use the configuration utility to change the powerline network name from the default of HomePlugAV. If your adapters don't have a configuration utility you can use any of the utilities from other manufacturers because they all use the same protocol.
