UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) Adversely Affects WiFi Performance?

I use a DC UPS with 12 x 18650 batteries for my modem and routers (can adjust voltage between 1-12v and 16-24v). Not only can my router last over 10 hours during a blackout, but there is also no interference whatsoever.

Additionally, because my UPS doesn’t require the 18650 batteries to be soldered, I can easily replace them with anything I want. Technically I can use Tesla/Panasonic 3600mah * 12 = 43200mah per UPS, probably can make my router last over 15 hours.

I've been using mine for over 3 years, and my Samsung 2600mah batteries are still quite healthy because the UPS does not always charge the batteries all the time.

Unfortuantely it appears the seller stopped selling on Amazon, I can still see his Chinese Taobao store though.

Is Taobao like Temu? I had a good experience/purchase of an outside micrometer set from Temu...
Taobao is fully Chinese, if you can't read Chinese there's no way to shop...

This is what I was talking about. I can't remember how much I paid, but currently, on his Chinese Taobao store, the price is 160RMB (22USD) excluding the battery and power adapter. You can use any adapter between 12-24V output (recommended over 14V), though you'll likely need one over 120W since the UPS can output a maximum of 90W plus you need extra capacity to charge the batteries, but if you don't output this much W then you don't that much input obviously.

Also there are three models, only one of the three models is UPS, the other two are not.

------------

There seem to be a few sellers on AliExpress, but they don't appear to be selling the UPS model. If you're interested, it might be worth asking them. e.g. https://www.aliexpress.us/item/2255801007349742.html?channel=twinner

From seller's Taobao page (Model A, Model B and Model UPS):

Sorry. I'm Chinese, but can't speak nor read. I'm what my dad calls an American Born Chinese (ABC). No worries about the link. I can ask a Chinese friend or relative...

I didn't return the UPS from Sam's Club and it's less than 3 ft from an RT-AX5400, which is about 3 ft from the foot of my bed.

I'm guessing 2.4 and 5 GHz is less noise sensitive, as I haven't much performance issue now that I have a router in the room...

Same, except I can read...

The reason I recommended this DC UPS is that it’s the best designed DC UPS I've ever seen. Most DC UPS put a lot of strain on the batteries, causing them to age very quickly, but this one doesn’t. According to its seller the circuit is designed for constant DC voltage with a UPS protection circuit board, especially since it doesn’t require soldering at all, making it easy to replace the battery however you want. (You can use only 4 or 8 batteries if you don’t need as much capacity or wattage output, since it’s a 3 parallel 4 series circuit), super flexible and fun to play around with (just make sure not to connect the battery terminals in reverse, as the 18650 batteries have too much power, will immediately break the components).

I just tested mine again, and the internal resistance of my Samsung 18650 batteries I’ve been using for three years is currently between 25-29 mΩ, indicating that the UPS places no stress on the batteries over 3 years.

The DC UPS not only significantly extends usage time during power outages since it doesn't require conversion, but also doesn’t cause any interference whatsoever (provided the power adapter is of good quality).

Also, don’t forget that it’s very cheap, costing only a little over $20 a unit. A set of 12 18650 batteries and a good quality adapter won’t cost much either.

Google Chrome does a decent job translating pages to English. Interestingly I have a couple of requirements that I should ask about. (Parts are not translated at all I'm afraid).

@sorachan The GT-BE98 Pro and GT-AXE16000 seem to use the exact same power adapter which is 19.5 V at 3.33 A. The BQ16 Pro uses a 12 V, 5 A power adapter. It's difficult to tell whether these two are supported? (That would cover the 3 main routers I have)...

Also I can't seem to find a sign up page I think they do not allow USA accounts?

Both can be used, but neither is recommended. The BE98 and AXE16000 adapters are designed for your router’s power consumption. Your router will draw a maximum of 19.5V * 3.33A = 64.935W, but your UPS not only needs to power the router, it also needs extra power to charge the batteries. You'll need an additional 20-30W to be one the safe side. If you have an adapter rated at 19.5V and 5A or higher, it will work perfectly.

The second adapter is 12V, which meets the 12-24V requirement, but the seller recommended over 14V because voltage conversion circuits cause losses, and 12V might prevent your UPS battery from fully charging.

Shopping on Taobao can be quite complicated if you can’t communicate well. They don’t ship directly overseas, although Taobao does offer an official forwarding service that I sometimes use. However, you’ll need to communicate frequently with multiple parties, making it far from a smooth experience. If you're interested in my setup, it's best to find someone with experience shopping on Taobao.

My Chinese friend just told me that you can try a Taobao buying agent, like ParcelUp: https://parcelup.com/shop/item.php?id=585972577125#4286170969300

He said they can ship almost anything except batteries.

Disclaimer: I've never used such service and have no idea how it will turn out

Btw you will also need 55*21 to 4.0*1.35mm adapter for ASUS routers (I think most ASUS routers use 4.0*1.35 but I'm not entirely sure about yours), probably worth buying from Taobao together, as they only cost about 50 cents each: https://parcelup.com/shop/item.php?id=775863575763#5304346292755

----

Ohhh, another point, the UPS model will NOT work for your BQ16 Pro directly, since its 12V output can't output 5A, only the 16-24V output can. This means you will need another step-down converter to convert 16-24v output to 12v output...
If you are buying from Taobao, probably also worth buying together since a step-down converter is very cheap there.

My friend told me that ParcelUp is a rip off, you might want to check other services...
For example Superbuy:

Thanks @sorachan I did see I am able to create a USA account because it gives an option for our +1 country code. But I am far from being able to sort it out on my own. I might have to wait until my sister-in-law comes back from Thailand as I noted in my PM which is at least end of November.
