I'm getting pretty frequent disconnects with this adapter despite a very strong wireless AC signal. I'll be happily surfing and then see the yellow triangle on the wireless icon in my taskbar and I'll lose internet. Happens about once a day. Only unplugging the thing and plugging it back in resolves it. I've downloaded the latest drivers and tried all 5GHz channels. Unacceptable considering I'm 20 feet from the router with no walls blocking things. I'll try disabling beam forming and if that doesn't resolve it I'll send both the adaptor and my new Asus laptop back and get another model with an internal wireless AC card in it. Probably should have done this in the first place but Asus put cheap wifi cards in all but their high end laptops and I was hesitant to buy an alternate brand laptop.

Are you using the utility or just the driver? I use just the driver and my USB-AC53 works great. There is a folder in the utility folder called driver or something, copy and paste that some place and uninstall the utility and driver then reinstall the adapter with just the driver you copied out. Also make sure you have the newest version of that driver, I believe the zip from Asus has a driver folder in it for the utility install.

The thing is it does work great, it just disconnects about once daily. I am just using the newest driver, I never installed the utility. The laptop I'm using it with runs Windows 8.1 for what its worth. I have been reading some have had issues with the desktop usb stand they provide, all my disconnects have been with that. I have switched over to clipping it onto my monitor with the clip they provide and so far so good. However I now have two variables I am testing as I disabled beam forming on my AC66u at the same time.
