Hi
I as using my AC68U (firmware .41) without any problems. However, i noticed since last night that my wifi connection was lagging. I pinged the router and the latency was very hight (>3000ms) and more than half of the connections were dropped. My ipad and my droid were also having trouble connecting to the router.
The cpu load on the router was also minimal.
I tried to troubleshoot (factory reset, restore settings change wireless settings etc..) but nothing was working.
Then i though why not disabling iptraffic, i did that and the connection improved considerately, the latency was reduced and i had fewer drops.
Then, i decided to remove the flash drive from the USB and set the monitoring to RAM and the connection is almost back to normal.
My question can the USB or the IPtraffic affect the Wifi connection?
Thanks

IPTraffic only gets saved once every hour at the earliest. It could be your hard disk that goes into sleep mode, and gets stuck as IPTraffic tries to update the stored database. The System Log would give you more info about this if it's the case.

If that's the case, you will have to either disable power management on your disk (if possible), or use a separate thumb drive to store it. You could also use nvram - just set the save frequency to something like 12 or 24 hours.

I am using a USB flash disk. I replaced it with a HDD to test. It seems normal. I will report later. Could a faulty flash drive affect Wi-Fi ? Nothing is shown in the log!

That'd be surprising, but it's always possible. Try reformatting it.

It seems it is not iptraffic that is causing the problem, but inserting the USB flash drive. The Wifi will lag when there's a thumbdrive in the USB port to the point of making the router unreachable. Nothing appears in the logs.
