Hi all.

I have just ordered i new USB HDD for my router.
I am wondering how to make my setup.

My idea is to have my new HDD in NTFS format (so it works on computers that can't read Ext4), so i can unplug it if i need to take it with me and then have a USB stick (Ext4 format) in the other USB port, for all the router software (Entware-NG, transmission, DNSCrypt, AB-solution etc.).
Is at a "bad idea" to have to HDD in NTFS format, when using transmission to write files to it + using AiCloud/disk in the future?
If it is, then i will just use the HDD to store my files + the router softwares without using a USB stick, but i would like to have the ability to unplug the HDD if needed.

Thoughts on this?

There's nothing wrong with having the drive formatted with ntsf. However, you can easily read ext4 on windows using Ext2fsd.

I guess i will be making the setup with the HDD (NTFS) + Stick (Ext4) then.
I prefer sticking to NTFS, because a can then share my files with my friends without installing additional software on their computers.
