I plugged in one WD 500 gb usb 3.0 hdd directly to the routers usb port and 3 other usb flash in usb hub, this is the mount result:
admin@RT-AC66U:/tmp/home/root# mount
rootfs on / type rootfs (rw)
/dev/root on / type squashfs (ro)
proc on /proc type proc (rw)
tmpfs on /tmp type tmpfs (rw)
devfs on /dev type tmpfs (rw,noatime)
sysfs on /sys type sysfs (rw)
devpts on /dev/pts type devpts (rw)
/dev/mtdblock5 on /jffs type jffs2 (rw,noatime)
usbfs on /proc/bus/usb type usbfs (rw)
/dev/sdb1 on /tmp/mnt/ACRONIS type vfat (rw,nodev,noatime,fmask=0000,dmask=0000,codepage=cp437,iocharset=utf8,shortname=winnt,flush)
/dev/sdc1 on /tmp/mnt/sdc1 type ext3 (rw,nodev,noatime,data=ordered)
/dev/sdd1 on /tmp/mnt/sdd1 type vfat (rw,nodev,noatime,fmask=0000,dmask=0000,codepage=cp437,iocharset=utf8,shortname=winnt,flush)
/dev/sda1 on /tmp/mnt/sda1 type ext3 (rw,nodev,noatime,data=ordered)

I tried to plug the 500 gb hdd to usb hub but I get some erorrs and was not mounted, I believe the usb hub needs external alimentation for hdds, it's only working fine with usb flash.
I tested this on Merlin's build, dunno if is working on stock firmware.
