We now have the ability to assign an IP to a client's MAC address, and assign a name. However, the assigned name doesn't appear in either the dhcp or wireless logs. I was wondering if the name assigned to the MAC address could appear in the dhcp log, that would be really handy. It would most likely mean playing with code that you're not currently touching, but would be very helpful for those of us that have lots of client devices.
In particular, I'm having a problem tracking a Kindle that only appears occasionally, and when I look up the MAC address prefix it says "Private", so that doesn't jog my memory about what the client is. Now I've assigned it an IP and a name, but that's only helpful when it's an active client (via the client list on the network map page), not when it was an active client but still has a dhcp lease, and I see it in the dhcp log.
Not a critical thing, it would just be very helpful.
