New Around Here
Hi Folks,

I work in Live audio, with a router connected to a digital mixer, controlled by an Ipad.

Current routers I have in venues are an N66, AC66 and AC68.
The N66 and AC66 have current Asus firmware, the AC68 I bought used with DD-WRT on it.

The Ipad connects to the AC68 and works fine.
With the N66 and AC66, the Ipad tries to go on-line and do updates, and wants me to log in to the router and change settings.
if I wait a minute or so I get an option on the Ipad DO YOU WANT TO USE WITHOUT INTERNET? which I select, and everything works fine.
(NONE of these routers are connected to the internet.)

I have tried turning off every update option I can find on the Ipad.

It seems there is some setting in the AC68 I need to use on the N66 and AC66.
Any suggestions here?

Thanks and good health, Weogo Reed

Hi Folks,

A friend says that Asus routers REALLY want to be connected to the internet.
Is this correct?

Since the AC68 I have running DD-WRT doesn't seem to have this issue, would it be helpful for me to flash the N66 and AC66 routers with DD-WRT, or Merlin's software?

Thanks and good health, Weogo

Go in to WAN settings and disable it.
First tab, 2nd option from the top.

Enable WAN - No.
