What the heck does the device list mean under VPN Fusion > Internet?

a) why only (3) devices are shown, but (4) are currently using the Internet
b) all (3) devices are shown toggled off - what does that mean? (Is it for when "Apply to all devices" is off, like when I don't want all devices to have Internet access?)
c) if I click the edit button, the devices that are shown toggled off are check marked (i.e., on) in the edit dialog with all of the other devices not check marked - what is that telling me?
(the states are inverted)

Thanks to Client List accuracy.

Apply to all devices of enabled.

You can select there which ones will be using WAN (Default Connection) and on your eventual VPN client select which ones will be using VPN. It's a simple form of policy routing. I haven't seen Asus FAQ about it, but play with it for some time and you'll catch the logic. Not the best, but quite simple.

Yeah, I'm trying to see the logic, but I don't see anything logical yet :)

I'm not clear on what you mean above. I think you are saying if the device is enabled below the 'all devices' toggle, then that device will get the Internet connection. Well, they are all toggled off but all have Internet. So no make sense to me. Logically, 'all devices' should override the individual toggles.

That defaulted list seems to be statically set, as it is always the same (3), but I can 'edit' and check some more and they will then be shown in that list. Ah, okay, so that is a subset list of all devices where you choose which devices apply to a connection. Why only those certain ones show by default doesn't make sense.

So, if you don't have 'all devices' on, and you have a device toggled off, what connection does it have? I guess none, which means no external connection at all. Or

Wowza! I created a test VPN connection to see if I could get past this when toggling off 'all devices':

I added a device to the test VPN and then the Internet connection went wacko!

I was going to remove the device from the test VPN but it was not listed there anymore! It went downhill from there. I refreshed the page and was forced to log in again - now it all looks normal again. Geez.

I still can't get past 'select another VPN' to toggle off 'all devices'. o_O What's the point of that toggle?? (Actually, right after I made the test VPN, I was able to toggle it off once, toggled it back on then no more.)

The 'select another VPN' message doesn't make sense - how, where do I select a VPN profile? I can't get rid of that dumb message. And I don't want to cancel the internet!

FAQ https://www.asus.com/support/faq/1048506/ not that it helped much.

I'm sure someone will help you with example screen shots. I don't have any Asus routers running at the moment. When I tested VPN Fusion some time ago it was working properly with WAN and VPN connections with devices going trough WAN or VPN. What I remember is you have to remove a device from WAN connection in order to be able to add it to VPN connection. Apply to all devices - when you need all through WAN or through VPN.
