I'm using a VPN service and find that every few days I have to go to the router (RT-AC68U) and turn the VPN client off and then on again.

Would anyone be able to provide me with some instruction to add that resets the VPN client at a certain time of day?

Thank you!

Can't you just set the poll interval, which checks if it's running and restarts it if necessary?

You're details are too vague. However, I use PIA for example, and my additional options are:

persist-key
persist-tun
tls-client
remote-cert-tls server
reneg-sec 0
keepalive 10 60

disable-occ
auth-nocache
mute-replay-warnings
fast-io
verb 1

In red you will find two options that may help you.

It's not in additional, on the VPN client config UI, there's an option called Poll Interval....

My VPN client has been up almost 61 days without a restart.

Poll = 0 which disables this feature

Additional option:

reneg-sec 86400

Which I think renegotiates the connection once a day.

Thanks to everyone for the response. I'll start with poll interval - mine was set for zero, and see if that deals with the problem, and then work my way down the list. I had been thinking something along the lines of what cybernook had, but if poll interval works .... great!

Unfortunately I don't know what other information might be useful, other than the fact that I'm using Torguarad. My current setup is below.

Again, thanks to everyone!
