Pardon if this is an easy question... but on my ASUS router, every now and then after a power outage, my WAN IP changes (i'm with Comcast).

this then screws up anything I use from outside with port forwarding.

Is this something I can keep static?

I don't know if there's meant to be something special about Comcast but I would say what you describe is expected behaviour. Your WAN IP address is dynamic and subject to change whenever the lease is renewed.

The two most obvious ways around this is are

a) Ask Comcast whether they can give you a static IP address
b) Use a DDNS service for your WAN IP and refer to the DDNS name rather than an IP address.
