The title says it all. I have an RT-AC66U in media bridge & wondered if we can set the WAN as a regular LAN port.

Also, I don't know if it is possible, but as I have it talking to a tri-band router, & it is set as a Media Bridge, the 2.4GHz band is useless. I would love to have both the 2.4 & the 5GHz bands both connect to possibly increase bandwidth.

If I really had my way, I would love to have two tri-band routers talking with Media Bridge, but using the two bands it is not talking on as repeater bands. This basically is the same thing the Orbi does...Using the channel that is used as the media bridge as the backhaul, & only use the other two bands for normal operations. Unfortunately, if you don't want the speed loss, you could only do this with one router, else you would have to sacrifice a second band, or require 4 bands: 2-5Ghz to provide the backhaul, 1-5GHz & 1-2.4GHz to provide normal wifi functions.

I know this is an old thread, but for anyone who comes across this thread on Google as I did, the answer is no, it does not work. I tried doing this on my media bridge (using an RT-AC87R).
