Are those WiFi 7 models still broken? Will the QoS Classification page function again on 3006.102.4?
You'd have to ask Asus and/or TrendMicro.

The problem isn't related to the QoS Classification page. It's the TrendMicro bwdpi engine itself flat out failing to do proper classification on that platform, which also means non-working Adaptive QoS.

Asus shared some of their future QoS plans with me, but that was almost a year ago, so at this point I have no idea what their more up-to-date plans are, seeing that those initial plans still haven't materialized.

Was this future QoS plans they shared was info about AI 2.0? I'm surprised Adaptive QoS has been broken for these newer routers since release without any update or information!

New = “better?”
Are we looking for range, speed, efficiency…?

Also, can somebody refresh my memory about what 3006 dies better/differently that 3004 please?
I would look for better stability. The other day when I checked on my old RT-AX88U it was only running on 20Mhz. The 80 and 160MHz channels were off.

my daily driver asus laptop seems to want to connect to my ax88upro 5GHz at 160MHz, but I'm often at the edge of wifi and plug in

@RMerlin: Woot! I hope it's been more fun than pain!
Is the goal to have these on the same GPL as the BE routers, or will you be back to three branches of development?
(Does ASUS have all 3006 AX & BE together in development is my question I guess)

Asus themselves have them on a different branch, so I will also need to do so.

@RMerlin
Could the GPL version be displayed on the Tools - System Information page? This would make it clear which GPL the given firmware version is based on.
No, because it's not always black and white. Sometimes a router can be a mixture of two different GPLs, or contain backports from a newer one.

Installed alpha version and encountered a few quirks:

After the update only guest networks carried over were the mesh guest networks which previously had been1 & 4.

This caused me some immediate problems as I had a number of other IoT devices on other Guest Networks.

Tried to revert to prior version and the downgrade was only partially successful and could not load configuration/settings file. Re installed alpha version and went about reconnecting various disconnected IoT devices.

When you go to the LAN/VLAN page it only shows two status modes for ports gig or disconnected. Having green showing for fast Ethernet ports it is confusing.

The update didn't bring over or at least show on the DNS server page my assigned list of assigned IPs but router seems to be assigning them. Tried restoring a saved list using the ustility and a saved CVS list and it would not work. All I could do was go into client list and bond IP to a MAC address for devices in primary subnet.

I will continue to work with alpha firmware and let you know if I run across any other quirks.

Thank your hard work on this project. Looking forward to being able to fully utilize VLANs.

@CaptainSTX, In case you didn't see it. There is a 3006.102_4 alpha thread where issues with it are being discussed. RMerlin has responded in that discussion to some of the things people are finding with the alpha.

Hi could you elaborate which utility you are referring to here please.

I’ve been using Winscp and just copying back saved copies of dhcp_staticlist and custom_clientlist into /jffs/nvram for many years without issue, but @Tech9 recently noted he no longer recommended this method. Would be interested in the utility (IIRC Yazfi has this function but I do not use that Addon).

Here I sit patiently waiting for this to go into Beta. As much as I would like to try it, I just can't take the chance on an Alpha at this time

Just wait for the right GPL-s to arrive...

Does this mean I need to replace my RT-AX86?

No. It is supported by 3004.388 Asuswrt and Asuswrt-Merlin. This firmware branch is not discontinued.
