New Around Here
I just upgraded to 388.1. I have an AiMesh setup with two routers connected via wifi. The performance on the wifi network appears normal. The admin page for the router is basically unusable due to speed. I cannot pull up menus to do anything. I have power cycled both routers a few times. Is anyone else seeing this issue, or at least running this build on the same router for comparison? Thoughts?

probably not the issue, but you don't have a V2 do you?

Do you have more than one device on the network acting as a dhcp server?

Should be just one DHCP. What's the best way to determine version? (may as well ask while waiting for administration menu). I looked on the bottom of the router for stickers, didn't see a version # there, but I did notice / recall that they are both the AX-3000 variants Best Buy was selling, bought around the same time.

Finally got into the System Log - getting a bunch of entries every second.

I put a filter in to block the MAC address listed above and now the UI is back to normal. Not sure if that was actually the root cause or if there was something else. Could have been reboots, could have been clearing the log files. Anyone have thoughts?

What's the device you have filtered by MAC address?

Don't know - can't figure it out. I have all known devices set up with DHCP reservations by MAC addy. Could be something at a neighbors place.

Randomized MAC on Android/iOS mobile device?

Hi bgrt-ax58-u,
Just to let you know that you are not alone. I am having the same problem (extremely slow Web UI when I log in to Router) in the following different scenarios:
  • RT-AX88U 3.0.0.4.388_20558 as AiMesh Router (EDIT: I also tried 388.1)
    • (with 2x RT-AX86S 3.0.0.4.388_21709 as AiMesh Nodes ... I also tried AX86S 3.0.0.4.386_49599)
  • RT-AX88U 3.0.0.4.388_20558 as Standalone
    • (with only my MacBookPro, including factory reset / uploading FW in Rescue Mode)
  • RT-AX86S 3.0.0.4.388_21709 as AiMesh Router
    • (with RT-AX86S 3.0.0.4.388_21709 + AC86U 3.0.0.4.386_48260
Syslog of RT-AX86S, for RT-AX88U the difference is eth6 instead of eth5

  • Initially, I too suspected I have some devices at home that is not well behaved. I have since isolated all non-Apple devices (TV, Internet Radio, TV box, etc.) to GuestNetwork that has not intranet access, I only have MacBookPros and iPhones on my Intranet now. I have sent feedback with all logs (6 hours exercise) to ASUS and was told that they found no problem. I have just email them with a shorter syslog that I captured from factory reset to the repeated items above in the standalone configuration. See what they say.
  • My last suspect is my USB Thumb-drive (I used to run AMTM with Asuswrt-Merlin FW) ... I would probably switch the other RT-AX86S as AiMesh Router and reconfigure my AiMesh Network from scratch with no USB Thumb-drive attached.
  • My current workaround is to do MAC Filter to reject CC:8C:BF:92:74:9B
Any wiser suggestions will be greatly appreciated :)

PS: bgrt-ax58-u can you consider to change the subject title to include AX88U and AX86S or something more generic. Thanks.

Did anyone find out more about this issue? I'm also having it since updating to the 388.1 firmware on my AX11000 router. I'm going to revert back to the previous version for now because it's the webui is completely unusable.

I've also been getting this lately, as well. Even with a silent, "device-less" network.
