New Around Here
I'm having a rather odd and annoying issue with my RT-AC68U. I have it running as Media Bridge with a couple of devices connected to it (AV receiver, Dell Optiplex). They both get internet and can access anything on my local LAN but I cannot for the life of me ping or access the webGUI using other computers on the same network. If I log into my main router which is also a RT-AC68U it will see the IP address of the Media Bridge but then it just disappears. Same goes for the IP addresses of the AVR and Dell computer. Pinging results in 100% packet loss.
Running the latest firmware 380.65_4 if that matters but had this issue for a while now.
EDIT: I figured it out. Turns out that when using bridge mode you have to use the SAME chipset on both ends. I was using a Ubiquiti UAP-AC-LR which uses an Atheros chipset and the ASUS RT-AC68U is Broadcom. Probably explains why my older TP-Link TL-WR940N V3 in WDS mode worked fine with the Ubiquiti AP as it has the same chipset.
