There's no need to do it this way in Merlin's firmware because there's already a custom config file available for this purpose, /jffs/configs/hosts.add.
I still contend that the dhcp-host syntax is MAC, IP, hostname, lease but he has MAC, hostname, IP, lease. Who knows how it would behave.

Yes I think you are correct, I missed your earlier post. :oops:

Although looking back through all the posts on these forums, people are using it the same way around as sbsnb! I have noticed that dnsmasq seems to have this magical ability to know which parameters are being used for which purpose, regardless of the order!

EDIT: I've just tested this and dnsmasq will correctly handle the IP address and host name being either way around. (But I think your way is the proper way. :D)
