We have a ReadyNAS Pro business with 6TB of total space. We use it as a file server for our 10 user office and it is great. It currently has about 2.5TB worth of data on it.

I want to back it up to another NAS box for redundancy. The plan is to do a local sync in the office initially and then have it off site for daily incremental backups.

Which NAS box should I get for this. While another ReadyNAS Pro business would be ideal, I don't want to spend that much money again. Since this is going to be strictly a back up box, I don't need the same feature set or performance as the NAS Pro business. I would like to spend much less (< $1,000) on this box.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

you could also simply back it up to an external drive, USB or eSATA.

OP said he wants offsite incremental backups.

He could also use RSYNC to backup over WAN. However Ultra 4 does not easily support Secure SYNC. This requires a Business edition Readynas or another NAS that supports Secure RSYNC. Personally, I'd stick with an x86 Readynas for ease of deployment and reducing potential aggravation down the road.
