Why password required for AiProtection Alert Preference email?

The emails being sent are about as hit or miss as the actual blocking being done; in my experience.

The blocking works but fails to report, therefore no report = no alert email.

On my AX92U's I never saw a single alert in 6 months. I shut AiProtection off and have never seen any issues. Router has a firewall, Use Quad9 and the PC's OS is protected.

You will never get an email unless you set your Google Account properly .

In your Google Account settings you must select ;

" Allow less secure apps: ON "

Yes the password being blank is normal.
I did set the google account to allow less secure apps, so that shouldn't be the issue. I also looked through the general system log to see if there was any indication of a failure to send the emails, but saw nothing obvious in there either.

Never seen anything in the logs about email being sent or not being sent.
Make sure you don't have two factor authentication turned on for the gmail account.
Check your spam folder.

Checked all of that multiple times. Even this morning (10 hours later) still nothing.

Like I said yesterday, In My Experience it's hit or miss if it works. Could be gmail and the configuration or the setup in the router, or TM being TM.

OK - thanks for the responses. I haven't enabled any of the AiProtection features (other than the DNS filtering of the parental controls) on any of my previous Asus routers and just thought I would give it a try. My main interest was to supplement the browser and OS protections - especially for the kids computers.

I guess I will just let the notifications go and periodically look at the router configuration pages to see if it is being triggered at all.

Anyone got a new "malicious site" link? None of the previous ones are being blocked and/or reported by the email i set up.
