AC1900 remains the best combination of price/performance.

Agreed - in this use case - OP's AC1750 is pretty much AC1900 class - that's why I jumped in...

Buffalo (Melco) does some very good stuff - and they do support the 3rd party community - just as much as the Asus folks do - just not as public about it.

In past experience - they're a bit better about build quality, being a Japanese company compared to Asus...

It's like Rice Cookers - even the Chinese buy Japanese Rice Cookers, because of the build quality... many China tourists make a specific buy when visiting Japan...

(side note - Tiger Brand Rice Cookers are the best at the moment - they haven't outsourced production back to China/Vietnam/Thailand/Taiwan/etc... and if you're Asian, the fsck'ing rice cooker is a must in any household, no stereotypes, it's that important, as it's a stable of all meals)
 
i am trying to understand. When router and AP exist in close range wont those 2 cancel each other as point of congestion. Though prime router may have 5ghz AC still 2.4ghz is still same.
