Will Add-on's be affected by Google's switch from Chrome Manifest v2 to Manifest v3?

As the title question asks, how will this look going forward?
UBlock Origin appears to be going away on Google Chrome and its variants.
What are the options for Chrome based Manifest v3 going to be?

Run Brave or Firefox :)
Firefox appears to be staying put, but anything Chromium based is not, including Edge, Brave and others.

Was hoping to hear feedback from the Add-on authors and how this will affect their plans, for their specific scripts, going forward.
Thank you.

No. The Manifest only relates to browser plugins, it has no impact on anything else outside of the browser.

Just for completeness, details on what brave is working on to continue to support add-ons currently supported on manifest v2: https://brave.com/blog/brave-shields-manifest-v3/

Your link, and the write-up within is mostly a soft sales pitch. The closing is telling. Do you have any skin in the game?

My question is specific to Chrome and MV3. MV2 is being deprecated.

"While Brave will continue to offer limited support for MV2 extensions, the real solution is to use Brave’s industry-leading, native features. All are available by simply downloading the Brave browser."

I think anyone who hasn't previously tried the alternative browsers but is becoming aware of the change to how ad-blocing is going to work will be looking for solutions. So if you find something that presents itself as a solution, that may well be where you look, until you discover that solution is flawed. So I don't think it's necessary to "have skin in the game" to be interested in alternative solutions.
I wouldn't make a prediction right now, there are more variables in play than are obvious, almost certainly including governmental intervention.

No skin (not sure how that would even work), just adding it for reference.
