Ive setup wireguard, but its not connecting on a reboot, all I have to do is hit the apply button and everything comes up and works fine. EDIT: It does show this in the client log "Unable to access interface: No such device"
Maybe its trying to start to soon?

Starting too soon would be my guess. It would help if we knew tje model and firmware version so that the devs (either Merlin or Asus) can investigate. You may need to report to asus as well

Hello, do you solve the problem? I have the same one. Maybe someone else knows how to solve it.
Router ASUS GT-AX6000

Switched to merlin alpha 388.2 just now.
It does not work for me. Unfortunately, after rebooting, I need to click on Apply to see "Connected" sometimes twice or thrice.

I apologize, i cannot honestly remember what made it start working on reboot, but i was the same, just had to hit "apply" and it was ok . At the time, I did have openvpn and wireguard both setup. I have openvpn disabled now. I also dont believe I had vpn director rules setup when it wouldnt start on reboot, which now I do.
