Wireless extender showing up as "wired"

Hi - I have this TP-link wireless extender that I connected to the Asus AX92U to extend the 2.4GHz in a dead spot for a few devices (smart plugs etc.). But, the extender always shows up as "wired" on the Network Map. Any idea why?
