Shows MACs on 2.4GHz and 5GHz ranges but is there a similar command for hard wired stuff?

No, because unlike WiFi where the client maintains a connection to the access point Ethernet traffic is transitory. The best you can do is look at the router's ARP table but that's not a 100% reliable indication that the client is still connected to the network.

No the previous check I had was using wl -i eth1 assoclist to pick up a device then curl to a webpage running home automation to update a switch in the HA. I was hoping to piggy back off it and use curl to send an email but now I'm back to just trying to detect the device as it's not wifi.

As the HA runs a website thinking of using wget to site for a check.
Or perhaps even curl -sSf
