Its up to the smartphone makers to drive this and it looks like they ain't biting.It seems like no one is making any new consumer devices that can make use of the 60GHz band. It seemed like it had a lot of potential, especially in cases of activities that could be accelerated when in the same room as the router such as an automated complete backup of a smartphone to a NAS while on the 60GHz band.

AD devices seem to be limited to laptops/notebooks for now and it's not mainstream there either.
I would say the Archer C5400X is more on a par with the Asus GT-AC5300 and Linksys EA9500V2, hardware wise.The Competition?
