XT8 Firmware on 3.0.0.4.386_46061 Printer lost connection

I lost access to my air printer by updating to 46061 and had to revert. Printer is a brother HL-3170CDW and I'm on MacOS. The printer connects through 802.11n, I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it, but just wanted to see if anyone else had that problem. I reverted back to 3.0.0.4.386_45934 and it worked again.

Does anyone know why this might happen?

I have 2 old Brother printers with wifi N and a XT8 with no problems at all. Check 2'4 settings. Those printers doenst like some settings. Mine:

An MFC-L3770CDW here, connected to 2.4GHz and FW 46061. All wifi settings are default ones, no disconnection.
I followed the 46061 upgrade with a WPS reset of the router, maybe it has an impact.

I have never reset my Asus router after an update. Simply apply update and reboot. Done that way in DSL-N55U-D1, AX55 and XT8.
Sometimes I read this procedure, and really I do not understand why. I have lots of settings in dchp, ports, vpn, etc, and do not want to re-enter them after an update. I think it is not necessary at all. And the router doesn't tell you so after an update yet.
All my problems where solved adjusting some settings not accepted by a device.
