I've got a couple ZenWiFi BT10, ethernet backhaul to the BE96u. It seems like the uplink is the correct 2.5g. I've tested that pipe by plugging the laptop in and making sure I'm able to pull 2.5 from the internet all the way across to the end device. However, when adding the BT10, I can't get the LAN10G port to go beyond 100mb. Speedtest shows I can download 350mb plugged in to that. Eliminate the BT10 and I get 2.5. Is there anything I can check on or is this possible a bad unit or firmware. I'm on the latest and need that port to work.

I have two BT10s with ethernet backhaul from one to the other. I can only get the 1G wan port to work on the mesh node. This seems similar to you problem, but I've done less work. I think my problem started with the last firmware update. But I got things to work at 1GBE speeds, and just leave things alone once they work good enough!

I see what you're saying but it's only pulling 300-400 mb. Then the issue is the port shows 100mb in the UI...so while it might be good enough, I don't want a bad unit. My other unit behaves the same way. You make me wonder if I should try to go back to the older firmware. The new one is only a few days old and they are slow releasing stuff this year.

Multiple rescue firmware loads, chatting with support, still not working and now one of them seems to boot for a bit and then go red status. Think I'm sending them back. They need more time in the oven and some firmware.

I went through a similar process after the most recent firmware. I spend several hours doing a rescue, factory reset, etc, etc. I don't know why or how it eventually worked.

I tried to update to the latest firmware hoping for improvement. My main BT10 loses wireless connectivity to all devices for 5 to 15 seconds every few minutes. The Mesh node just wont come up (its hard wired). I'm guessing if I keep doing random things for a few hours it will come back up like last time. I'm going to reinstall my ET8's latter today and drop the BT10s in the garbage can :(

I have a stable network. However, I am not running MLO for the time being. They did push out an update for the 96U the other day. It's curious in the notes they mention it is not recommended to downgrade the firmware. They must have discovered the same bugs some of us have.

I strongly suspect that the BT10 will not initiate a mesh network until they can communicate wirelessly. I use wired backhaul at a distance where wireless is not possible. When I move the Mesh BT10 close enough to the main BT10, I can get the mesh setup, then move it back to its original distant location.

In any case, I removed the BT10s and have them sitting unpowered on a shelf. I re-installed by ET8s, which have always worked flawlessly. Compared to the ET8s, the BT10s had a small advantage on signal strength and speed in the distant corners of my house. But the BT10s can't mesh with a wired network, and were disconnecting all wireless devices for 5 to 15 seconds every few minutes.
