RAM1: 512 MiB (Nanya NT5CC256M16DP-DI)
WI1 chip1: Broadcom BCM4366
WI1 802dot11 protocols: an+ac
WI1 MIMO config: 4x4:4
WI2 chip1: Broadcom BCM4366
WI2 802dot11 protocols: bgn
WI2 MIMO config: 4x4:4

WAN-LAN (Mbps) 802 761 Mbps
LAN-WAN (Mbps) 791 809 Mbps
Total Simultaneous (Mbps) 1406 1546 Mbps
Maximum Simultaneous Connections 35,938 38,424

tested with FW version 3.0.0.4.380_2345
latest firmware

-----------------------
Data\Throughput , measured as the average throughput while transferring a 29 gig video file using networx speed meter , standard copy and paste smb trabsfer
client device asus pce-ac68 in windows 10 based pc , asus rt-ac5300 in media bridge mode
NAS – synology ds 415+
---------------------------
Data throughput
---------------------------
ethernet to ethernet
read 117MB/s write 117 MB/s – this is the max hardware performance
------------------------------
usb 3
------------------------------
usb 3 to ethernet
read 62 MB/s 49.2 MB/s
usb 3 to wif 5 gig
read 31.7 MB/s write 39.1 MB/s sync 1.3 gig
just a note here i think my usb 3 adapter may be causing a bottleneck so i will redo the usb testing with a new one in the weeks to come
------------------------------
Wireless Data Throughput
--------------------------------
2.4 gig
note at this time i have not tested 2.4 gig as i am having issue getting the 40mhz to work correctly on the asus adapter and am only getting ½ throughput results , i will test 2.4 gig once i get this resolved
---------------------------------------
5 gig AC data throughput
tested on ch 153 N/AC
aus rt-ac88u connected to synology ds 415+ link bonded mode wireless
location detals can be found in the link below
https://onedrive.live.com/?cid=7D5C...1a0742!812&parId=7d5cb240be1a0742!144&o=OneUp
---------------------------------------
Asus pce-ac68
-----------------------------------
10 feet away Location A
read 114 MB/s write 70 MB/s sync 1.3 gig
10 meters away Location C
read 98 MB/s write 70 MB/s sync 1.3 gig
25 meters away Location E
read 18.5 MB/s write 15.2 MB/s sync 175.5
-----------------------------------
Asus rt-ac5300 in media bridge mode
------------------------------------
10 feet away Location A
read 117 MB/s write 95 MB/s sync 1.950 gig
10 meters away Location C
read 117 MB/s write 110 MB/s sync 1.773 gig
25 meters away Location E
read 38.7 MB/s write 44.9 MB/s sync 585.5M
-----------------------------------------------------
So the conclusions we can draw from this are
1. with the 5 GIG wifi reaching the max throughput level of the router we have come to a point where wifi speed / throughput is no longer a selling point because we have reached the limits of the hardware , that is until we move to 10 gig ethernet routers
2 . this thing is blisteringly fast
3. once we get 2156M wireless clients you will max out your hardware both read and write
will do some testing with my nas link bonded and see how the router performs
this is yet to be completed and a final round of testing to verify results
-------------------------------------------
NOTE:- i have replaced a lot of my test gear of recent times so the above throughput speeds may not reflect on older testing i did in the link below
wireless AC device coverage comparison
/forum-replies.cfm?t=2384995
however if i get time i will go back and review those device again throughput wise with the new test rig
