A newbie question - When a device, say an iPad, connects to the Wi-Fi Router to obtain an ip address, does it recognise the Router SSID or the Router's ip address?

The reason I am asking this is because if I were to change the Router ip address from 192.168.1.1-192.168.1.254 to 192.168.3.1-192.168.3.254, will the iPad still recognise the Router and connect to the Internet?

SSID only. It doesn't matter what the IP address is.
Thanks. I am assuming that my existing router range of 192.168.1.1 will change if the new isp router uses 192.168.1.1 range. If that happens, I guess I will have to clear the 3 fixed device ip addresses on my router first and re-fix them again after the changes.

That statement makes no sense without context.

I'm guessing you're talking about your previous thread here. In which case the answer is probably "No", but it likely depends on the particular router you're using - also not specified. For most routers you'll just end up with a non-functioning internet connection until you go in and manually correct the IP range conflict.

Apologies about framing my point above. I am, may be, over complexing things!
