Beta ASUS ZenWiFi Pro ET12 Firmware version 3.0.0.6.102_36382 (2025/03/12)

So far so good. It has the Guest Wifi is updated with dedicated Kids, IoT, VPN etc. Other than that a few minor things. I don't think it has the VLAN feature included.
I can confirm it does NOT have vlan feature. I had it with the 9.0.0.6 version. I was aware of this before i installed though. Still to early to tell about features performance. I also only use my ET12's as Mesh nodes, so I may not see many differences.

EDIT: I am seeing 2.5x speed increases for wifi 6e connections to the node and some nominal increases with all other connections. Mesh seems to drop devices less as well than the older better. Things are looking up, although now I'm just dealing with the lack of vlan support. Overall great first impression overall from the previous beta.

It looks like they will push this version as stable release after completing QA etc.

Just updated.
Well, I already found a significant improvement just from 1st seconds router started: I use it in a standalone mode (1 node pack) and as a reserve ISP 4G modem. On older versions after reboot router was not able to start just right with proper ISP (cable), had to reattach it physically. But, on this beta, all correct, cable ISP is online while 4G is in cold mode. Finally!

Added recently:
Also discovered a new feature not present before: https://asusrouter.com:8443/adGuard_DNS.asp
Looks promising, native integration. I use NextDNS now (was using adGuard before but at one moment their DNS started to respond in 300+ms, so migrated to next and never had any outage for now, with 3+years of use), but, if it's a native built-in feature then why not to use it. Tried to login with my creds (they are correct, tested on the web page) but it failed to auth, well, let's wait till the 'stable' build.

So, feedback is appreciated :) :
1. Adguard is not able to log in if you use multifactor auth, once disabled it parses your config and suggests "router" like devices
2. The Adguard itself, well, in two words is slow ah hell, 100+ms response while NextDNS sometimes faster than Google DNS. So, nothing to do more here I suppose
3. And a glitch, once I applied Adguard settings, hmm, the web UI started screaming that no internet, built in speed test doing the same. But, all Clients and network tools on router itels are working fine. Fixed by reboot.

So far all other things are stable as rock.

ET12 is a main home router with the following config:
- smart connect for all 3 bands
- 2 wired clients (Xbox and NAS on 2.5Gbit)
- up to 18 wireless with a full mix of generations (2.4GHz WiFi4, 2.4-5GHz-6GHz WiFi5-7)
- WAN with DoT from NextDNS and boostrap DNS from Cloudflare
- DualWan setup (main ISP 1GBit cable into main 2.5Gbit WAN + reserve 4G modem via cable into LAN1 and speed 100Mbit in IP Passthrough mode)
All the above have no issues so far.

I keep getting a firmware upgrade unsuccessful message when trying to install the beta. Am I missing a trick or something?
It's not a beta, it's just regular build on 3.0.0.6 base. What are you trying to do? I was able to successfully dirty install this on top of latest official (24610) version with zero issues using upload button in administration/firmware section.

It actually does have VLANS, but from what I can tell, it causes a lot of instability in the router. They hid it in Guest Networks. When you create a guest network, it assigns a VLAN ID. After you create it, you can then go in and tell it 5 GHz, 6 GHz, 2.4 GHz, or None.

You can then assign DHCP and DNS for each subnet.

What isn't there is the ability to route from main network to the others, though you can configure each guest network allowing access to each other guest network in the gui. You also can't assign different channels for different networks, so they're all on top of eachother in Wifi.

Flakiness: Even though my CPU and Memory are all reasonable, I tend to see devices drop more than on the stable release. I also noticed inconsistencies when I set up SSH to the router. I set it for LAN only, and found that I couldn't access from the main network. However, I connected my laptop to a guest network, then could access it.

I am not sure how to provide feedback directly to Asus, but it would be amazing if they could make this functionality stable.

They've been working on stability for a while. I'm not sure they'll get there. :). I'm seeing connectivity for clients extremely solid, but I'm using my ET12's as aimesh nodes. All routing/vlans goes through my be96u. Unfortunately I'm unable to assign vlans to the individual ports on the ET12's like I was able to on the previous beta build. I'm just happy they've added Guest Network Pro.

In the router GUI, if you have a Administration menu option; see if it has a Feedback tab/section where you can provide feedback to Asus. Example of the Feedback page from a different router running the 3006.102_x firmware attached.

I downloaded the file and used the upload button. It starts installing and then says it was unsuccessful. I then have to reboot the router and it is still on the last stable release. Do I have to unzip the file somehow or rename it or something.

I didn't see that issue. Have you tried redownloading the file from the link? Have you tried a different browser? The file wasn't a zip file so there should be any issues with unarchiving it.

Testing continues..

Today got a glitch after 2.5 days with no issues at all.
Suddenly my laptop started to complain that no internet on WiFi present, then it started to draw a connection animation. Tried to get to the router web UI, no luck, tried via phone, the same. While, as I said, the connection itself is fine, network visible. Did a reboot. Everything back to normal. No issues so far, all devices are connected and running just fine.
And, as I already mentioned earlier, no that crazy issue with swapping the primary/secondary, so now I can reboot safely, with no need to reconnect main ISP cable manually.

Thanks for trying to help. I re initilized my routers, set up my system from scratch. No fancy scripts or anything. I have downloaded the file many times on MS Edge and Chrome. Tried uploading from both browsers. No joy. Guess I will have to wait for official release and hope it updates then.

What version are you currently running on your ET12's?

3.0.0.4.388_24610 Aimesh, wired backhaul, all 3 bands separate with their own SSIDs.
Bizarre. How many ET12's do you have? Have you tried to upgrade via the mobile app?

I think I will just wait for the official release. I'm getting too old to want to start diving into deep rabbit holes. They used to be fun, but not anymore. Thanks for trying to help me.
I don't blame you. :). I feel the same way most of the time.
